The Fast&Light series was our flagship product in 2018, and we witnessed the success of the FL series. It was very popular with our customers! In 2019, we launched a new series, "AERO". The wheels in the Aero series are truly "Aero". These are being released into the market and growing.

Will we abandon the FL series wheelsets, or will we keep them as they are? The answer is no. Our customers are almost satisfied with the FL series, but we still want to improve these wheels. We are always committed to providing our customers with a great shopping experience and high-quality products. In addition to the new AERO series, ICAN will upgrade the FL series this year as well. In 2019, both the FL series and the AERO series will be our flagship products!

1.Brake Surface Upgrade

One of the points of concern when choosing bicycle wheels is the brake surface of the rim. We also gathered feedback from customers and decided to improve the brake surface. The FL series has improved heat resistance, just like the AERO series. The brake track can now withstand 300°F instead of 240°F, and the rim is certainly more robust than before, which is a major improvement, even if it's not immediately visible.

2. Hubset Upgrade

 ① Bearing Replacement

Aside from the brake surface, what aspects of a wheelset's performance do cyclists care about and what influences them? There's no doubt that the hubset also plays a crucial role in riding. Next, let's consider the hub bearings. ICAN has once again made an effort to ensure that the Novatec AS511SB/FS512SB hubs use high-quality and the best bearings. The bearing manufacturer we used to use was NBK, and we used two NBK bearings in the front hub and four in the rear hub. However, we are now using Japanese EZO bearings instead of all NBK bearings, and we only retain one NBK bearing in the rear hub. This means we use two EZO bearings in the front hub, three EZO bearings in the rear hub, and one NBK bearing in the rear hub.

② Adding Anti-Slip Strips

Our engineers have added anti-slip strips to the freehub of the Novatec hub. You might wonder if this is necessary. Riders will find it easier to ride if the rear hub is locked. Adding these anti-slip strips significantly improves hub performance compared to before.

We've connected the upgraded Novatec hubs to the FL rims and enhanced the brake surface's heat resistance. And we want everyone to be able to buy the FL series wheels.
