On the other hand, tires with a high TPI (meaning a high density of carcass layers per square inch of tire) are often lighter, and high TPI also makes the tire sidewall more flexible, which gives high TPI tires a better ride feel than lower TPI tires.

However, high TPI tires often have poor puncture resistance (because the tire walls of lower TPI tires are thinner).

This is also a phase transition, in that lower TPI tires are usually more durable than higher TPI tires (it can be said that TPI is only related to tire puncture resistance, not tire durability).
